Outdoor Adventure trips for today’s Urban Youth

Provides-  teens with Wilderness Adventures,  Outdoor Experiences, and Follow-up opportunities

Focuses-  on Inner City and At Risk Youth, providing life changing Experiences at little or no cost

Urban Mountain Adventures exists to serve the community in a positive way by encouraging teens to turn off their cellphones and computers, step out of their comfort zones, and set off on a real adventure. We desire to impact teens by leading them on wilderness experiences that develop a new perspective on life and impart a deeper understanding and respect for the world around them . We feel that any teen can benefit from the physical and spiritual challenges found in exploring God’s creation.

Along with multi-day trips, UMA has also identified a core group of youth who have shown a desire to have consistent involvement in Urban Mountain’s activities. This has opened opportunities for us to serve the local teens of Lynchburg in two major ways. First, we are building on the experiences and momentum from our wilderness trips with more emphasis on personal development and character issues. Second,  we are implementing frequent local outings that provide fun yet focussed events, developing group dynamics and helping to instill personal goals and  purpose for their lives.

We believe this is vital to the teens having a sense of worth. It is best said “a man without vision(goals) will perish.”
